# MC KC – North East Makina / Hangar 13 MC **MC KC** is another name from the classic North East rave and Makina scene, particularly associated with recordings from the **Hangar 13 / Keep It Safe** era. His name survives alongside some of the established North East MCs of the period, including: **MC Jet MC Techno-T MC Attack MC Massive MC G-Force** ## Orbital Prophecy Some of the strongest surviving evidence comes from **Orbital Prophecy**, a Keep It Safe Promotions event. One archived recording features: **DJ Trouble B2B DJ React** with: **MC Jet MC KC MC Techno-T** The recording runs for almost an hour and survives as part of the Hangar 13 and Keep It Safe archive. ## DJ Attack & MC KC Another surviving Orbital Prophecy recording features: **DJ Attack** with: **MC Techno-T MC KC MC Massive** This puts KC alongside three important names from the older North East rave circuit and gives us another genuine recording rather than relying only on people's memories. ## Hangar 13 – Newcastle Boat Party KC also appears on the line-up for the huge **Hangar 13 Tuxedo Princess Boat Party** on Newcastle Quayside on **29 August 2004**. The event brought together a massive collection of North East rave names. Arena 2 included: **MC Massive MC KC MC Vibe MC G-Force MC Jet MC Attack MC Techno-T MC Stompin MC Stretch** The event advertised itself around the Hangar 13 residents together with special guests from the North East dance scene, old and new. ## Part of the Hangar 13 Generation KC is interesting because his surviving history connects him strongly with the MC generation surrounding **Hangar 13 and Keep It Safe Promotions**. These recordings help demonstrate just how large the North East MC scene actually was. It wasn't only Tazo, Stompin and the famous New Monkey names. There were numerous MCs moving between events, promoters and venues across the region. **MC KC was part of that network.** ## The Archive Survives A large collection of Hangar 13 and Keep It Safe recordings has survived online. The archive contains KC alongside Jet and Techno-T on the Orbital Prophecy recording and preserves numerous other performances featuring G-Force, Attack, Massive and other North East MCs. These old recordings are becoming increasingly important. They allow us to reconstruct line-ups and connections that might otherwise disappear from North East rave history. ## More Information Needed There's still a lot we'd like to discover about MC KC. At present, I haven't found a sufficiently reliable original source confirming his: **Real name Exact hometown When he started MCing** Rather than guess, we'll leave those details open until an original profile, interview, flyer or somebody directly involved with the scene can confirm them. --- ## Do You Remember MC KC? Did you see **MC KC at Hangar 13 or a Keep It Safe event**? Do you remember the **Orbital Prophecy** recordings? Were you at the **Hangar 13 Tuxedo Princess Boat Party in Newcastle in 2004**?
